under the weather...

Hello from wet & rainy Southern California!

I am literally and figuratively under the weather. It is raining right now and I have been sick for 3 days! I don't know what happened. It started Wednesday morning when I woke up. I was coughing and I kept feeling like I had to throw up. I was coughing so bad that I had a headache and my whole body was aching. I went to the doctor yesterday and I have a hacking cough. I had so many different medications and so many home remedies so I can feel better. I guess I'm somewhat better. hehe rubbing Vick's on your feet and putting socks on before bed really helps with the cough!

Since I haven't been to work in 3 days you'd think I would have worked on something... but nope! I have been sleeping all day! I'm not even up at night. I sleep all day and all night! Hibernating like a polar bear.

Last week, I made a couple of cards but Mike hasn't taken pictures of them. He's been sick too. He's not as bad as I am though. He's such a sweetheart because as sick as he is, he still drove to my house to take care of me. Yesterday, he even brought me guava cheese pastries from Porto's Bakery. Probably not a good idea since I'm sick but that's probably the best thing I ate in 3 days!

I hope I'm all better by tomorrow so I can play with my Cricut!

Vinyl Decorated Jar

Since I said I would post at least once a week... Here it is!

This is actually an old project. I didn't realize that I hadn't posted this.  I made this for a manager from my previous department as a Thank You gift before I left.

It's a jar that I bought from Wal-Mart. I believe it was less than $5. The Cartridge that was used is Life’s A Beach & Tear Drop. I decided to layer the vinyl and it turned out fantastic!

Thanks for looking!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Finally, here is the project I've been working on for Valentine's Day! This is something I read on greenbean's crafterole blog. She has a lot of fantastic ideas! Thank you for sharing your project with us.

This is made with the Cupcake Wrapper Cartridge. I wanted this cartridge so bad that I bought it from Wal-Mart for $40! I normally don't spend more than $30 a cartridge. It's a cupcake made out of the fuzzy socks! Right now, they seem to be very popular so you can get them pretty much anywhere for about $1. I got these from a local dollar store by my house.

This one is for Mike's boss, Maria.

This one is for my co-workers.

I wish I had the little red fuzz balls to make it look like there was a cherry on top! It still turned out cute though and everyone loved it! It was just funny how everyone didn't know they were socks at first sight.

By the way, Valentine's Day in the office is awesome! There are treats everywhere! Hope you all have a good one. Thanks for stopping by!

thirsty?

so you know pretty much everything I make have to be personalized! I love the 99 Cent Only Store/Dollar Tree/any type of stores where I can get stuff for $1 or less. For something you can get for so inexpensive(that's the word Mia liked to used, because once we personalize it it's not cheap. It just becomes inexpensive) you can turn it in to something creative and thoughtful.

On my way home from work, I stop by the 99 Cent Only Store every now and then to see what they have. Last week, when I went I saw these water bottles. They came in different colors and I thought they would make really good Valentine's day gifts for my co-workers.

Oh by the way, these are my new Nye and Mia's in my new department.

Me, Patty, Nai, Melissa
Here are the water bottles. Mike took this picture for me. He recently got a Nikon D3100 for Christmas from his wonderful girlfriend! So he's now my official photographer.

simple happy birthday banner

In November, we threw a surprise birthday party of my very best friends Sally & Wendy. We actually tricked them into planning each other's party. On the day of the actual party, Sally took Wendy out for lunch thinking she was keeping Wendy out of the house for us to set up for the party. So needless to say... we NEEDED the sign for both of them to know that the party was for both of them.

I used the Storybook Cartridge to cut the scallop circles and the letters. I used my ATG gun(LOVEEE that thing BTW) to glue everything together.

Sally likes it when there are posts about her, so here's another for you Sally!

Back from the dead!

Hi everyone!

It's been about 10 months since my last update! I know it has been a long time. I really haven't done that much crafting in the last 10 months. I've just been working and I don't spend that much time at home so it's hard to work on anything. I will try to update my blog regularly again(at least once a week... yikes!) I've missed my Cricut and I do want to start playing with it again.

I do have something I was working on last night, but it's not complete yet. It is something that's Valentine's related. Well, you can probably give it as a gift for any occasion. I'm making it as a Valentine's Day gifts for the ladies I work with.
