feeling like this right now...

so much furniture to build once the craft room is done...

H.K HB Card

Good morning everybody! I’ve just been so busy with my craft room that I haven’t really had a chance to do anything of much else. It’s taken so much out of me. I’ve been really exhausted so would go to sleep at like 7 or 8 p.m! Since I go to sleep so early I would wake up at like 1 or 2 a.m. and wouldn’t be able to go back to sleep until like 4 a.m. I just can’t wait for it to be done!

Can you believe it’s November 30th already? 25 days till CHRISTMAS! By this time last year, I had made all my Christmas cards, bought ALL the gifts and wrapped everything! This year is definitely not the same case! I am SOOO behind! All the gifts I’ve bought so far, they’re just sitting in a bin in my dad’s office. I’ve been too tired to even wrap them! You guys know how much I love wrapping gifts. I SHOULD have sometime this weekend…. I’m going to try to get some stuff done then.

I go through card making droughts so whenever I make them – I make several and stash them. So I can share with you guys on a later date.

I made this card maybe 2 months ago? This was for my friend Mmai’s birthday. She LOVES Hello Kitty. I still haven’t given it to her yet. But I thought I’d share anyway.

Craft Room Update III

Good afternoon everyone! I wanted to give you all an update on my craft room.

Day 11 – Thanksgiving Day -- this was the final day that the contractor worked on the room. They finished installing the door to the garage then put plasters on the wall.

Day 12 –The contractors calculated the room to be done in 8/9 days but it ended being 11 because of the rain and some complications. They had another job to go to. My dad and I sanded down all the plasters in the room and painted the primer paint when they were supposed to do all of that. I’ve never physically put so much effort into something I wanted so much! I was kinda mad at my dad for letting them go without finishing the job but he said they were still a lot cheaper than other contractors we had gotten quotes from.

Day 13 - Wanted to give you guys a look at the craft room from outside during the day.

These were the two colors I chose. I got samples from Lowe’s $2.99 for each sample color! The left color is Gold Buff – a dark yellow and the right color is Dusty Yellow – a softer pastel yellow. My mom and I both decided on the Dusty Yellow.

I pretty much painted ALL day – by myself most of the day. Painting the ceiling is HARD! I didn’t have an extender for the roller so I used a ladder. It felt like exercise as I was climbing on the ladder and then painting then stepping back down, moving the ladder, then stepping back up! When I was almost done painting the first coat on the walls, my very good friend Andrew came to help me! He helped me paint the 2nd coat of yellow on the walls and that was such a BIG HELP! He saved me like an hour of my day!

Day 14 – I had to fix the corners where the ceiling and the wall meet. I wasn’t careful when I was painting the corners of the walls. I was trying to avoid taping but I had to do it anyway!

This is what kept me entertained while I painted and worked on the room!

After 3 days of hard work, I took off all the tapes and this is how everything looks after the painting!!

We’re just waiting to put the tiles in now! Since we hadn’t put the tiles in yet… I went on the IKEA website – got the measurements of the furniture and drew on the floor. I know – I’m a nerd!

You're My Favorite Turkey

Good evening everyone! Happy Thanksgiving!!! I hope everyone is having a good one.

I am definitely thankful for my parents (Khin & Audrey) -- because of them I get to live the comfortable life style that I live in. I'm thankful for my friends (Wendy, Sally, Thao, Helen, MMai, TMai & Jenn)-- we've been friends for so long and I couldn't imagine my life without you all. My co-workers (Melissa, Nai, and Patty) who have became my friends so quickly -- you guys are the people I spend the most amount of time with. Of course, there are a ton of other people I am thankful for in my life. You guys make me who I am today.

For the first time in 3 years, I'm not having any Thanksgiving food today. It feels kind of weird. I got to spend some time with my family though. We went over my grandma's today. I saw my cousins who I haven't seen in awhile.

What would Thanksgiving be without some shopping after the food??? 2 hours ago I went to Michael's. They had an extra 30% off coupon. I made good use of it because I bought 4 paper packs -- as if I need any more paper. They were only $6.99 each! Also got a desktop carousel for only $17! I wasn't too found of the color being white but I figured I can always try to paint it later.

I ALMOST bought an E2! I asked the cashier if they were selling it fast and she said they had ONE more. I almost bought the last one but I thought I really didn't need it. I have the regular expression and the Cricut Create. Wal-Mart is having the Imagine for $189. Debating if I should buy that. I mean --- Do I really need an imagine??? Wendy has had SOOO many problems with her that I'm kind of scared to get one of my own. That machine is SOOOO sensitive!

I wanted to share a simple Thanksgiving card with you today.

At 9:30 today I'm going to go Wal-Mart with Nai and we're going to Best Buy after. We wanted a lot of things but I doubt we'll get any of the door buster deals. There are a ton of people already waiting in line since like SUNDAY. I'm about to go into a battle zone. Wish me luck!

Craft Room Update II

good evening everyone! I wanted to give you all an update on my craft room.

Day 3 - They put this chicken wire thing on the outside walls. I was finally able to get inside the room since my dad took out all our junk.

I came home Thursday night to find that NOTHING in the craft room had changed. Well, at least I didn't notice anything changed. I was like "OMG what are they doing?!?!" Lol. I guess they were working on it but I just didn't notice. They took a break over the weekend because it was going to rain. The electrician came on Sunday. The contractor resumed yesterday.

Day 8 - They put the stucco walls on and started putting the insulation inside the walls.

Day 9 - They put the insulation on the ceiling and I guess my dad is putting a door to the garage. He evetually wants the garage to be fixed up too. The outside walls looked painted.

Here is how the drive way look like with the cabinets that were taken off and all kinds of other trash!

Thank you so much for stopping by! I'm beyond excited for the room to finish!!!

be patient

Good morning everybody! Happy Tuesday! This week is definitely going to be a short one. I’m excited! My craft room is almost done. I’m hoping to be painting and building my furniture by this weekend. I will be on another short vacation for 5 days! I'm off until Monday.

I’ve been busy shopping for Christmas presents and when I’m not doing that -- a whole lot of nothing. I went to sleep last night at 8:30! I feel like because it’s been SOOO cold(lol 50 degrees is freezing here!) I just want to leave my heater on, stay under my blankets and be a lazy bum!

Oooh also been busy pinning things on Pinterest! So addicting!

I wanted to say that I’ve been learning how to be patient. They say that good things come to those who wait but I definitely am the “I-HAVE-TO-HAVE-IT-NOW” type of person. I’m very impulsive and always need instant gratification! Anyway my point is that, I’ve been waiting SOOO long to have my craft room and it is definitely coming true! Another thing is that, I wanted to buy another TV. I wanted a 40 inch LED TV for my room and the TV that’s currently in my room was going to be moved to the craft room. I was going to buy one on my way home from work last night (see very impulsive). Good thing that I didn’t because I found another one that costs a little bit more but was way better. AND the main reason why I thought to write about having patience is that, since I’ll be redoing my craft room – I’ve been looking for a ton of reasonably priced furniture. I’m obviously going to have an Expedit unit from IKEA. I mean come on – which crafter doesn’t own an Expedit! I've been waiting to buy it though. And Literally like 5 minutes ago, I got an e-mail from my local IKEA for this deal!

I wanted to buy 2 of them so now I’ll have to pay for only ONE! Super duper excited. So lesson is -- try to be patient about everything in life because in due time the things you want most will become yours!

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Gift Tag

Good morning everybody! Happy Friday! I have to say that this week has just blown by! Monday & Tuesday night I had class. Wednesday, we had our Thanksgiving Potluck at work. Then at night, I had dinner with my old roomie, Heather. Yep, roomie! I lived with this girl for 2 years before I moved back home. I’ve known her since Freshman year of high school. We used to have some crazy times together!

Here we are having dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory. She asked me not to post the picture but I think she meant on Facebook. Hehe.

I wanted to share a very simple gift tag that I made. As you all know, I LOVE LOVE LOVE to wrap gifts and my mom sure puts me to work! She asked me to wrap a present for her Boss’s birthday. So here is the present I wrapped with the gift tag on it.

I made this birthday card for Sally! Sally is your simple-down-to-earth-girl-next-door kind of girl! I really didn't know what to put on her card because there isn't really any one SPECIFIC thing she likes. Like for example -- I LOVE Keroppi, Cupcakes or Audrey Hepburn things or you know stuff like that. But I thought cupcakes were always good on a birthday card.
