Birthdays Birthdays!

Good afternoon everyone! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! I sure did. I felt like I was all over L.A this week!

It was definitely a HOT weekend. The temperature were in the 100s. To make matters worse – my house had a semi-blackout. The electricity was running on low voltage. Couldn’t turn on the AC, fan or TV or anything really for that matter. I was DYING! I called Edision and they told me they couldn’t do anything for me since it was an unscheduled blackout. So I had to go to my grandma’s house to get ready. Thank god she only lives like 3 blocks away!

Saturday was my friend Danniela’s birthday dinner. It was at a Italian restaurant in Marina Del Rey. There was so many people I didn’t even get to take any pictures with her or anything. But here is the birthday card I made for her.

Punch: Martha Stewart Loops Punch
Stamp: Pink by Design - Birthdays, Birthdays
Other: White Gel Pen, Ribbon

After the dinner I had another birthday to go to. So I met with my friend David in Manhattan Beach and we headed to Pasadena for Melissa’s cousin, Eddie’s birthday event. Oh boy I haven’t stayed out that late in such a long time. I’m such a homebody. I normally sleep at like 10 and if you wanted me to stay out past that you had to give me some sort of energy drinks! David was determined to keep out as long as he could. I actually stayed up until about 3 in the morning!

Sunday was Siuhung’s baby shower. She’s 8 months pregnant now and so beautiful! Wendy accompanied me to the baby shower. Thanks for coming with me all the way to Thousand Oaks!!!

I had such a crazy weekend that I went to sleep at 8 last night! I kinda started on a card last night. I start my first class tonight so hopefully I can finish it!

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful week!

Good morning everybody! I’m posting 3 days in a row!! WOW. Hehe.

Like I said I have a lot of events coming up that I needed cards for! This card is for my friend Siuhung. She and her husband, Frank, are expecting their first baby! It’s a boy!! I don’t have a lot of friends with kids but Siuhung is like a big sister to me. She and I used to work together years back! Anyway I’m super excited for her. She’s going to be such a great mom!

I’m all for other people having kids. I just don’t want any of my own – at least not yet. I could wait about 5 years or so. Longer if possible! Maybe because I’m still young but gosh I hate the sound of children crying! Is that mean to say??? My mom said I never cried as a kid so maybe that’s why. (I’m a cry baby now. lol. You give me a mean look and I’ll probably cry) I just like to BORROW other people’s children and then when they cry and whatnots… I can give them back. I call them my rent-a-babies. Hehe

Here is my card for Sihung.

I Feel The Love Project #3

For the month of August, Kate McRae and her family will be the recipients of our handcrafted cards.

Monday June 29th, 2009 was supposed to be a day filled with summer fun. The kids and I were going to the water park to celebrate summer. However, I noticed that a slight tremor in her right hand that had developed over the past few days had notably worsened. We decided to take her to her Pediatrician, just for safe measure. A CT of Kate's head was ordered. We proceeded to Phoenix Childrens Hospital for a stat CT of her head.

At 5:30 I, Holly, Kate's mom, was taken into a room alone and told Kate had a massive tumor on the left temporal lobe of her brain. The world seemed to stopped for us that day. I called her dad and through sobs told him to come to the hospital quickly. Our long journey had begun. Kate was directly admitted to the PICU. One minute thoughts of the water park the next our child is critically ill in the intensive care unit awaiting emergent brain surgery within a matter of days. We would have never chosen to be a part of this journey with childhood cancer, but it was chosen for us, and our sweet Kate.

Paradise

Hey everybody! I was super busy at work yesterday. I missed work on Thursday and Friday due to strep throat. I don’t know what’s going on but I can’t help but be sick like every 2 months! But I visited my awesome doctor and my SUPER awesome friend made me some super delicious chicken soup and I’m all better now!

Friday – I headed to Palms Springs for Helen’s Bachelorette weekend with the Mai Sandwich(when it’s just me and the two Mais, I call them the Mai sandwich) it was SUPER HOT!!! I believe the temperature was about 109 and this was actually one of their cooler days. The house that was rented was really nice. 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a huge pool. We relaxed by the pool and then cooked dinner at night. I took a shower before dinner thinking everyone would wash up for dinner but no.. everyone ate in their bikinis. Lol Then everyone jumped back in the pool after dinner. It was kind of funny to see 7 girls (5 out of 7 girls can’t swim) do cannon balls into the pool at midnight and trying to save each other after. I went to bed before everyone because I was exhausted and I could not sleep at all. I tossed and turned for like 3 hours until TMai(the dentist) got into bed next to me and then I finally fell asleep! It was crazy that I couldn’t sleep because it wasn’t my own bed and I needed someone else there for comfort. Haha.

Saturday – We had a Spa Day. I am not a big fan of the sauna. I hate sweating. The eucalyptus room was awesome. It just clears up your sinuses! We also had a mineral bath… umm it felt like regular water to me. Lol. The massage was the best and was much needed! The masseuse kept talking to me during my massage which I liked and didn’t like. I liked it because it kept me from falling asleep but I didn’t like it because I just wanted to relax! After the Spa – some of us went back to the house and some stayed at the spa. Then we all got ready to go to dinner at Chop House. It was a nice steak restaurant. I was so tired during the dinner and from not being able to sleep the night before – I just wanted to go home. So I went home with Wendy that night so she wouldn’t have to drive home by herself either. I'm sorry I didn't stay longer Helen. Love you!

I wanted to do an update about my weekend but I don’t really have all the pictures yet so today will be an actual crafty post! I am way over due for one anyway! I’m really getting back into the grove of crafting!!

Here is a card that I’ve been working on. It’s a card without really a purpose. I wanted to make it just because.

Cricut: Pack Your Bags
Stamp: My Creative Time –  Have Fun in the Sun, Peachy Keen – Wided Eyed Kids
Other: White Gel Pen, Blue Ink Pen, Glitter for sand

I will have more cards to share with you this week. I have a birthday dinner, a baby shower to attend this weekend and I had to make cards for them. I finally made my card for the I Feel the Love Project. I know I lag it every month! I keep saying I'm going to do the cards earlier on in the month but I never get around to it until it's almost due! Procrastinator! I know.

Thank you so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Bridal Shower Tea Party Invites

Hello everyone! It’s Monday and it’s a new week! I feel like I’m ready to take on the world! Unless I get lazy then I’ll just stay in bed and watch TV!

I had a pretty good weekend. I spent some quality time with my friends. This upcoming weekend is Helen’s Bachelorette Party. We’ll be having a Spa Weekend in Palms Springs! It’s going to be HOT HOT HOT! I started packing yesterday and I didn’t pack one pair of jeans or a jacket or anything remotely warm.

I finally got the pictures from Ian for the Bridal Shower invites that I made. Sorry the pictures aren’t that clear. I believe this is taken with a camera phone.

These were very simple invites. I cut the the teapot out with my cricut and manually cut it to make an opening. Then I used brads so I can open and close it. The tea bags were punched out with my EK Success - Real Estate Sign paper punch and I used yellow twine from Wilton.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Impulsiveness

Good morning everyone! I was at the mall last night to look for a dress for Helen’s bachelorette party. No luck of course. You never find anything when you’re actually looking. Then I walked into Clarie’s to look for some earrings.

Of course my impulsiveness kicked in. I asked the girl how much it would cost to get my ears pierced. Keep in mind I already have them pierced but I wanted two more holes. She said it would depend on the earrings I chose. I asked her if it would hurt since I hadn’t pierced my ears since I was 8. I IMed to tell Sally that I wanted to get my ears pierced. Then 2 minutes later I made my decision and got them pierced!

Now I have the urge to get a tattoo! Which probably won’t happen because my mommy will be furious… but I’m looking for ideas!

I actually sat down at my craft table last night. Didn’t use my Cricut though. I was just playing with my punches. I’ll slowly get back into it. Thanks for stopping by!

HK(hello kitty) HB (happy birthday)

Good morning everybody! I know it has been awhile since my last blog post. I’m sorry for just going MIA without any warnings!

I have been going through some personal things and just decided to take a break for awhile. But it was brought to my attention by my awesome reader, Andrew, that my blog has not been updated. So here we are! My friends are so great! They are so supportive of me! I’m so grateful to have them in my life!

I’m starting school in 3 weeks and I decided to take more classes this semester so I might be a little busy. Last semester, I only took an online course and that was already a lot and messing with my social life. Lol. I hate school but I know I need it so I figured better late than never! I should have gone to college straight out of high school and not taken any breaks.

I haven’t really been crafting much. I did make invitations for a bridal shower. It was for my good friend Ian’s girlfriend Syreeta -- who is the Maid of Honor at her friend’s wedding. I know that’s too many degrees of separation. Lol. Ian is such a good friend of mine that I couldn’t say no. I mailed them the invitations on Saturday and they loved it! Dummy me forgot to take pictures of them! So Ian said he would take pictures for me when he got home later.

Today I wanted to share an old card that I made in June for Nai’s birthday. She is a big Hello Kitty fan. Now these days… who isn’t though?

The character I loved growing up was Keroppi! My daddy used to take me to the Sanrio Store every Saturday and I would get something of Keroppi. They discontinued his character for awhile but they recently brought it back. I was stoked!

On to the card!
