flowers flowers flowers

Good afternoon everybody! I’ve been meaning to update for the longest time but I keep forgetting my camera in the car to upload the pictures. I finally brought it today.

I did get around to making something in my craft room on Wednesday night AND it’s not a CARD. I said I would make other things besides a card. I have a ton of things I’ve been wanting to make from Pinterest but haven’t gotten around to it. I did organize my craft room a little bit more. And by organize I mean I bought more fabric drawers from IKEA to toss stuff in. Those are the BEST storage solution. They look neat and people can’t see your mess inside.

I got a ton of exercise this past weekend. On Saturday, I went to play volleyball with David, Nai, Tony, and Shanna. It was in the gym that I played basketball in… when I was in 8th grade! Lol I hadn’t stepped foot in that gym since I was 13. Volleyball was fun and now I am left with 2 floor burns and a bruise on my knees. I really shouldn’t dive for the ball unless I have knee pads. I have knee pads for snowboarding and I should have brought them with me. On Sunday, we had our recreational league softball team practice. My cubemate(kind of like cell mate -- he sits next to me at work) Sam was trying to teach me how to throw properly. I still throw like a girl.

So back to what I made on Wednesday night. I love going to the dollar stores to alter things. It’s inexpensive and I can put my own special touch to it. I’ve been thinking of more decorative items for my craft room. I thought it would be awesome to have some flowers. Obviously I can’t always be putting fresh flowers. So I picked up these “silk” flowers from the Dollar Tree. The awesome thing is they sell the vase and the rocks there too. This whole arrangement cost $5.

AND I got some FRESH flowers delivered to me at work today. Just because flowers are the BEST. They’re so beautiful and smell sooooooooo good! Thank you David <3

It's humungous! My arms got tired when I was bringing it up to my desk.

I love lilies!

The Getty Museum

Good morning everybody! Happy Monday. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! It’s a full week! YIKES!

It’s raining here today. Normally I’m not for the rain, but we haven’t really had any rain this winter. It rained for a couple of hours on Saturday morning. My company’s softball tournament was cancelled and post-pone. I’m not playing this time around. Just a happy spectator! I will be playing Softball in a recreational league on Thursdays with David, Melissa, Aeron and some of our other co-workers.

Yesterday was such a beautiful day. I love how vibrant everything look the day after it rains. I’ve lived 15 years in L.A and never been to the Getty Museum. David and I have been talking about visiting the Getty for the last couple of weeks since neither of us have been there. We finally went!

The Getty is absolutely beautiful and everything was state of the art! It’s definitely getting funded properly. They lend out IPod touches for the audio tours. And the restroom had these SUPER PRETTY toilet paper with some butterflies embossed in them. lol I know I noticed the detailing on the toilet paper. I wanted to take a roll and try to incorporate it in my cards somehow. hahaha

isn't this just beautiful?

Venus and Cupid. Happy Valentine's Day!

We walked into this room and David said "I don't wanna see any of this stuff! My mom has stuff like these!" HILARIOUS

Aries Zodiac sign. Written in Latin

so these are all the things that they used to write and bind their books together. Being the crafter that I am, I was like "oooh I could use that to make cards." lol

you can almost see Downtown L.A!

this reminded me of the maze in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

it was a lovely day! I can't wait to visit more museums, especially because I'm taking an art history class next semester!

Will You Be Valentine?

Good morning everybody! Happy hump day! Luckily it's a short week. Last night, I spent about an hour at the gym. I spent about half an hour on the treadmill. I even ran a little. OMG I hate running with a passion. I’m just waiting for my knees to start hurting. Every time I run on the treadmill, my knees hurt like no other. Tonight, I think I want to try the cycle class! Seriously, I’m determined to be fit before the Bahamas. Maybe even wear a 2 piece bikini! HAHA

I didn’t quite make it into the craft room cuz of the gym. Luckily, I made enough cards to last throughout the week. Sort of... Another Valentine's Day card but as David said, without typical Valentine's Day colors.

Bunny Birthday Card

Good morning everybody. I'm sure everyone is back to work today. It was nice having the day off for MLK. I got caught up with my crafting! I have plans on going back into the craftroom tonight too.

I re-joined a gym... I know I'm one of those terrible people who joins the gym in January and then cancel by like March! Well -- NOT THIS YEAR! I'm determined to go at least 3 times a week. Even if it's walking on the treadmill for like 30 minutes. We have plans on going to the Bahamas later on this year. I need to take at least one tropical vacation a year. I deserve at least that. haha.

Hmm funny thing -- when I started my blog, I hardly made any cards. I used to alter a lot of things and made a lot of favors. I need to get back into that! I actually have a bin full of stuff that I hope to alter some day. Anyway, to take a break from the Valentine's Day cards -- here is a birthday one. I made this card with my E2 too.

Sucker for You!

Hello everyone! sorry I have been M.I.A! I haven't really been home to make anything. On top of all of that, I somehow got sick again. I was having an earache that was REALLY bothering me. So, David convinced me that I should go to urgent care. We waited 3 hours in urgent care! Apparently my throat was infected too. Luckily, I wasn't feeling the throat symptoms. $81(OMG all the craft stuff I could have bought!) later I'm feeling better!

I spent about 5 hours in my craft room today. I finally got around to playing with my E2! It cuts BEAUTIFULLY but I am not liking that LCD screen! I'm used to my Gypsy where I can put the images anywhere I want on the mat. I can't seem to do that with the E2(or at least I haven't figured out how). Here is the first card I made with my E2.

Cricut: Just A Note Cartridge

Punch: EK Success Punch Corner Rounder - Small
Stamp: My Creative Time - Classmates Valentines

Love Struck Dinosaur

Good morning everybody! Ew it’s Monday. Traffic was ridiculous today. I was 20 mins late to work. I hate those days where there is SOOO much traffic for no apparent reason. There weren't any accidents. It was just slow for the sake of being slow.

On the brighter note, the weather is FABULOUS! We are definitely having a summer in the winter. I even did a FIVE mile hike on Saturday. I felt like turning back after half a mile. But I was determined to finish! Plus I shook on it with David that I would finish so I had to! My body feels like someone beat me up with a baseball bat! I don’t want to say it’s a New Year’s resolution but I do want to do more active things. I am not a fan of the gym. So hiking, biking, and other sports will have to do. I need to be FIT for Melissa’s wedding!

As you know I bought the E2 on Black Friday. With the craft room set up and Christmas, I never got around to even opening it! I was so excited when I bought it but I didn’t even open it. Well last night, I finally took it out of the box. The machine looks beautiful! It’s much lighter than the original Expression. It came with 4 pre-loaded cartridges. I must say, I was a bit disappointed with them. Since the newer cartridges have been SOOO cute, I expected these to be cute too. But I don’t know, it just wasn’t up to my standards. I was going to make a card, but couldn’t figure out how to change to size of my image on the LCD screen. I didn’t feel like reading the instructions or watching YouTube videos for tutorials. I gave up.

There’s been a lot of controversial issues with SCAL and Provo Craft. I own 3 Cricut machines, the design studio, the gypsy, and probably over 70 cartridges. Mike got me the SCAL2 for Christmas last year and I barely use it. Even though I own SCAL, I still buy Provo Craft stuff religiously. I think all I’ve made is a Star Wars car decal and made some stencils of my friend’s fashion company logo. Anyway last night after I couldn’t figure out how to use my E2, I decided to play with my SCAL2. I got a free cut file from SVGCuts.com.

I wanted to make another Valentine’s Day card. This dinosaur is adorable and he looks love struck! Lol.

Trio Bonding

Good morning everybody! If you've been a long time reader of my blog, you'll know that Nye and Mia were my BFFs in my last department that I worked in. It's been almost 2 years since I left but I've still manage to keep in contact with these girls. I don't see them as much I'd like but it's still good to catch up with them. Nothing ever changes between us. These girls are HILARIOUS. They tell me how it really is and that's the best part. I had dinner with them last night. It was so great to see them and reminded me of why I'm friends with these girls!

Happy Heart Day

Good afternoon everybody! What two cards in a row? Lol I needed something to do while I was watching the FINAL season of Friday Night Lights.

I was SOOO sad while I was watching it! I didn't want it to end. When Sally first got me to watch the show, I felt dizzy from the first two episodes. But I’m glad I got used to the crazy camera angles. It is such a GOOD show. I can’t believe it only lasted 5 seasons. I absolutely LOVEEE Coach Taylor and how he handles every situation. My favorite character of all times is MATT SARACEN. I was sad when he left for college. I knew he would return for the final season but I didn’t know when. I nearly cried when Julie went to visit him in Chicago and he opened the door. LOL I know I’m such a nerd.

Clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose!

Anyway enough of me being a nerd. I wanted to make a Valentine’s Day card since it’s the next “HOLIDAY” coming up. I’ve been too lazy to use my Cricut. I’ve just been using my Cuttlebug with the MCT dies and other punches.

Checking in & Updates

Good evening everyone. It's been some time since my post and I wanted to check in with everyone and let you know all know what I've been up to. This will probably be a long post with tons of pictures since I've done a lot in the last week!

As you all know it's hard for me and my girlfriends to all meet together to do anything now these days. Every one's schedules are so busy and it's so hard for us to actually find ONE day when all of us could be together. I didn't even get to see them before Christmas. We met the day after Christmas. I wanted to show them all my craft room and share my special space with the girls I love dearly!

Sally wanted to try this fancy restaurant on Friday. Cafe Pinot in Downtown. L.A. It was good. I wouldn't say that I LOVED it but it was just great catching up with my friends.

New Year's Eve was GREAT. Tony planned EVERYTHING out for us. He went and picked up all the entrance tickets to the club. He had dinner for us, the transportation to the club -- he was also our designated driver. On top of all of that, he pretty much let ALL of us stay over his house.

FAIR WARNING -- my outfit is revealing! Sorry if it offends anyone.

There was a lot of ups and downs for me in 2011. I'm definitely ready for 2012! I've been nothing but smiles lately and I can't wait for more of that!

Thank you all for being a fan of my blog!
