fantastic girls day out

Good morning everybody! So Helen uploaded the pictures on Tuesday. But yesterday, I was too busy with looking for furniture (for my crafts room that I don’t have yet!) to update.

Like I was saying, I had at fantastic time with the girls! The pictures are all from Helen’s & Sally’s fancy cameras. I’m directly linking it from their Picasa albums. So hopefully they won’t delete the pictures any time soon!

Over the Rainbow

Hi Everyone! I was super busy yesterday and didn’t get a chance to update!

I had a fantastic weekend. Saturday I had a girls day with my girlfriends. It’s kind of sad how we all grew up together, lived in the same city and now live in different cities all over Southern California and we only see each other once every couple of months. But that’s how life goes as we get older. No pictures from the weekend yet because Helen hasn’t uploaded her pictures yet. so it’ll be on tomorrow’s post! I told Helen she was delaying my blog updates. lol.

Last night, Rony’s family handyman came by to look at my potential craft room! Estimates will be done today. My dad put me in charge of this whole project. He said I get to make all the decisions and he’ll just fork up the money! I also convinced my dad not to put the old washer/dryer in there(even though my mom insist that they go in there) I told my mom no ugliness in the craft room. She laughed when I told her no ugliness. Lol. She loves putting all her fabrics in plastic bags and I told her that was a big no no! I’m going to get her proper bins to put her fabrics. She’s also not allow to bring in any of her old tables in there. I’m going to buy her all new furniture.

I wanted to share with you this card that I made last night! I had seen this party favor tag. But my intentions weren’t to use it for a party tag… I wanted to make a card with it and use it as a sentiment.

Target Easter Pails

Hi everyone! Happy Friday!! So as I predicted, I will be leaving at 2 today! I finished all my work right now! Ready for happy hour! Lol

I made some Easter pails for my team. I love how there’s only 6 of them right now. Easier and CHEAPER to make things. I got these pails from Target for only $1. And I just used vinyl to decorate them. I used the Storybook Cartridge to cut the letters. I had some technical difficulties. I wasn’t being careful. When you vinyl around circular things, it’s a little harder. Some of the letters on the pail are crooked. Ooops.

I filled the pail with some candies and I got some games from 99 Cent Only stores. They loved it!

I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend! I’m having a girls day out with my girlfriends tomorrow. I haven’t seen them(besides Wendy) since my birthday. One of them I haven’t seen since Christmas! She’s been away at school in Boston and she’s home for Spring Break.

Thanks for stopping by!

Easy & Simple Treat Bags

Good morning everybody! I just wanted to do a quick update! I’ve been swamped at work and I HAVE to finish all my work today because there’s a possibility that we will get out early tomorrow. Easter is on Sunday and tomorrow is Good Friday. Normally the Friday before Holidays, we get out 2-3 hours early from work.

I went to Ross on Tuesday and I went nuts on Paper! I spent $75 on just paper… but I got 13 12x12 packs and 5 8x8 packs. They were mostly solid card stocks but SOOO pretty! I couldn’t resist. I pretty much cleaned out the whole aisle. Anything I could find double of, I bought one for Wendy too. Each pack was either $3 or $4!

Here are my papers! I still have a ton in storage too! so addicting…

I went to Wal-Mart yesterday. I’ve been inspired by Extreme Couponing. In an attempt to try to save I went yesterday after I gather all the deals and coupons. I spent $4 on a $13 purchase! Wendy and Helen are going to extreme coupon too! I think it’s better when you have friends that do it with you. Anyway while I was at Wal-Mart I saw these pastel colored peanut M&Ms and I thought they would make great Easter treats. I made a really quick and simple Easter treats to give out at work.

I made 24 of these.

Cricut: Bunny, Create a Critter Cartridge
Stamp: Peachy Keen Stamps – Wide Eyed Kids

Also, my stamp arrived! “Handmade by Cynthia” I love it! I stamped it on the back of each treat bag. I think I want a circle one too. I also ordered a “From the Kitchen of Cynthia” one

weekend of fun fun fun!

Good morning everybody! It’s Monday again… I hope everyone had a nice weekend! The weather was fantastic here even though all of Saturday during the day I stayed in to do my homework! So I can enjoy Saturday night and Sunday with Wendy.

Saturday night was my friend Diana’s birthday. I have a huge policy on giving gift cards as a gift. It’s an absolutely no no BUT in this case I had to break it. I hadn’t really had time to shop for a gift and I really didn’t know what Diana liked. So I had this gift card holder that I bought from Oriental Trading from a couple of years back.

I think this turned out quite well. Don't you think? I didn't use my Cricut for this. Everything was done with paper trimmer and paper punches. Sometime, it's just easier to do it without the Cricut! Especially when you're short on time.

Diana had a I Love Lucy Themed party.

Yesterday The boys went paint balling so Wendy and I spent the day baking.

We put these....

and then we got some flying saucers! It was really good.

I attempted to make some macrons but... failed! I needed to whip the eggs more so that it's more like fluffy like whipped cream. I'm going to try again on Thursday. Just in time for easter!

heat embossing on photos

Good morning everyone! It's almost Friday! I am over the moon because Melissa has asked me to be one of her bridesmaids! She's like the big sister I never had. It's funny because when we were ziplining in Cancun, one of the tour guides asked if Melissa was my sister! We're not even of the same ethnicity. It's really funny.

Even before she asked me to be her bridesmaid I was already helping her with the planning. And I had this big idea to make save the date cards. I had to test out my idea though. Because as I've said before, it looks better in my head!

I've been stamping a lot lately and using embossing powder with my heat gun. My big idea was to get their best engagement picture, use a customize stamp with their name, wedding date, and "save the date" to stamp on a 4x6 picture, and emboss it! Well, I tested it out and it came out pretty good. The only negative thing is that the heat gun makes the picture curl up a little bit!

I tested on a couple of old pictures I have. Also, I cannot get it right white embossing powder. I am not liking the Paper Source one either. The powder isn't fine enough! It works pretty ok on paper but not on the photos.

After this testing on picture madness, I had another idea to print the picture on white cardstock. I wonder if like Kinkos/Staples or places like that would do it! Because it would be so much easier for me to emboss on cardstock! I'll have to run this idea by Melissa.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

pin wheel birthday

Good morning everybody! It’s Wednesday and it’s hump day!

I’m going to be making a scrapbook of my Cancun trip! I bought scrapbooking sketches from 500 Scrapbooking Sketches. It is awesome! I picked out which photos I want on which sketch… and I have 57 pages so far! That’s not even all the pictures I want to use. It’s going to be one huge book.

I’ve been looking for some scrapbooking pages online but a lot of pages are of children. No offense, but I don’t have any children and I’m kind of sad that there aren’t more scrapbooking pages for vacations, friends, and couples!

On to today’s card! It was inspired by OWH Stars and Stamps. This card required no cricut. I cut everything using a paper trimmer. You can use your Cricut if you want to.

Stamp: My Creative Time Stamp Set - Wow So Many Candles
Other: White Gel Pen, Black Sharpie, Button, Paint Chips, Boarder sticker from Joanns.

Paint chips are an awesome way to get free paper! I get a ton whenever I'm at Wal-Mart. Obviously they're small in size so you can only use it for smaller things.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

whaley

Good morning everybody. Last night, I did my school reading for an hour BEFORE I played with my Cricut! Aren’t you proud of me? I’m setting boundaries for myself now. I’m going to really try NOT to procrastinate.

So I subscribed to like over 150 blogs. I use Google Reader to read my blogs. Not that I’m trying to be anonymous, but I just love having all subscriptions in one place! And I love how I can “star” the posts I like. So with that being said, I have a lot of posts that I’ve put a “star” on. This is where all my inspirations come from. Scraplifting… hehe. I try to give credit to everyone I scraplift from, if I can remember where I got the idea that is.

Today’s inspiration comes from, Primped in Paper. I thought the card was super cute and she made the sentiment herself. Here is my take on the card. I just realized that my whale doesn’t have a tear drop. Lol.

best wishes

Good morning everybody! It's Monday! The weekend seem to pass by TOO fast! I hope everyone had a nice one! I sure did! I spent most of my Saturday with Mike and ALL of my Sunday with Wendy!

Wendy and I circled the world yesterday. We went to the flee market. We only stayed for 2 hours. The sun came out and so did a lot of people. It got hot and really packed so we left! We also went to Paper Source because my friend Helen suggested that they have really good embossing powders. $8 but it should last me a long time. We ate lunch and we headed out again. Visited Joann's. They have selected cartridges for $18.99 but it was the really old cartridges. I ended buying another Friskars paper punch. After we went to IKEA; Wendy wanted to buy a new area rug for her living room. We were determined not to call the boys and fit it in my little car ourselves. With the seats folded down, we got the rug in. We went back to her house and hung out for a little bit. Wendy made us her famous cevechie. Super yummy! I didn't even like the cevechie in Mexico because I missed Wendy's! lol. Thanks for spending the whole day with me!

After dinner, I had to rush home because I didn't do my homework yet. such a procrasanator! When I was done with my home work, I had to make a card!

take flight

Good morning everybody! Happy Friday! It has been such a long week! I only had 4 work days and it felt like forever. For some reason, I was thinking yesterday was Friday already!

I went to Joann's yesterday and found some $1 Valentine's Day Stamps on clearance for $0.50! I bought a couple. It's not like they go bad... I can always save it for future Valentine's Days. lol.

Oh and I re-organized all my clear stamps! I put them all in blank jewel CD cases. I organized them the occasions.... so I might forget which stamp sets they're from.

Anyway, here is my card that I made with my new Valentine's Day Stamps.

Cricut: plane – New Arrival Cartridge
Stamp: $1 Stamps from Joann’s
Punch: Friskars 3-In-1 Corner Punch - Lace
Other: Gold and Red Gel Pen, Tim Holtz Distress Ink

I had actually envisioned this card better in my head. I'm going to try to do another one but with maybe a bird or a heart with wings. Since I got the plane from the New Arrival Cartridge... it seems more kiddish, rather than lovey dovey.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a WONDERFUL weekend!

Tee-riffc!

Good morning everybody! I wanted to do a quick update before I get my day started.

It's going to be really hectic at work for me in the next month. We're really short staffed because we have two people out on leave. My friend Patty, who just had surgery will be out until next month. Sam, my cubemate (cell mate at work), his last day at work is today. His wife is having a scheduled C-section tomorrow and he'll be out until probably July.

I made this card for a co-worker's birthday. He golfs a lot and I thought this card would be perfect. Can I say that I LOVE the hide contour button on the Gypsy?! (thank you Wendy who taught it to me!!!) I don't need to cut anything unnecessary any more. If I don't like it... just hide it! It's just great!

Cricut: Golf ball - George & Basic Shapes Cartridge , Golf tee & grass - Sports Mania Cartridge, "have a" - Simply Sweet Cartridge, "tee-riffic" - Don Juan, "birthday" - Stamping Solutions Cartridge
Cuttlebug: Tiny Bubbles Embossing Folder
Stamp: My Creative Time Stamp Set - You Had Me at Chocolate & Initial Stamp
Other: White Gel Pen

I got myself a "Handmade by Cynthia" Stamp. But it will be awhile before I get it since it's coming from Indonesia. I got for a really good deal! It was only $7.50 including shipping!

So Again I improvised. To make it more personalized, I used the My Creative Time Stamp Set - You Had Me at Chocolate and the initial stamp. I found it in Santa Barbara at a Pier gift shop.

Thanks for stopping by!
